Communication revolution of Internet technology

The Internet has recently celebrated its thirty sixth anniversary. Originally developed in 1969 to facilitate the exchange of packets of bits between computers, was for a long time, limited to the exchange of scientific information between scientists and reliable information within the government. Then e-mail and bulletin boards are increasingly popular among people with access to it.

In fact, it was not until 1990 that the Internet has become popular halfcommunication. As in 1993, the Government of the United States put on a website open for business, the creation of Hypertext Mark-Up Language (HTML), the basis for universal accessibility.

Since then, growth has been phenomenal. Various surveys show that today fifteen percent of people around the world use the Internet, or simply "the Net." The daily use of the World Wide Web, gaining enormous popularity among those who explore beyond the right tools and resourcesAnd the number of users increases from hour to hour. In fact, the Internet, computer and communication has revolutionized the world like nothing before.

The invention of the telegraph, telephone, radio and computer set the stage for this unprecedented integration of functions. The Internet is both a capacity to spread worldwide, a mechanism for the dissemination of information and a means for collaboration and interaction between individuals and their computerswithout regard to geographic location.

A recent study by Gulli and Signorini (2005) was published, says the Google index more than 8 billion pages, MSN Beta claims about 5 billion pages, Yahoo! at least 4 billion euros and Ask / Teoma more than 2 billion euros. But the estimate of the size of the entire Web is quite difficult because of its dynamic nature.

However, it is possible to estimate the size of the public indexable Web. As the two scientists is defined as a condition of indexable Web"Part of the Web that are believed to be indexed by the main engines." In their short essay, managed Gulli and Signorini, and revise the estimated size of the indexable Web Update at least 11.5 billion pages by the end of January 2005. Moreover, the relative size and overlap that occurs is estimated by the largest search engines on the Internet. Only Google has found that the largest engine, followed by Yahoo, Ask / Teoma, and MSN Beta.

The adoption of the proposed methodology in1997 by two scientists, Bharat and Broder, but uses the expansion of the number of requests for the examination of 35,000 in English, more than 438,141 in 75 different languages, the two researchers noted that the estimated size of the Internet in many useful situations, such as compression, ranking, crawling, indexing, Web and data mining.

The Web, as it stands today, global interpersonal exchange on a scale unprecedented in human history welcome. People separated by great distances,or too long, you can use the Web to exchange or even mutually develop their innermost thoughts and extended, or alternatively more casual attitudes and spirits.

Emotional experiences, political ideas, cultural customs, musical idioms, business advice, artwork, photographs, literature, and they can be shared digitally with less individual investment than ever before in the history of the spread of humanity.
